Amanda R. Kison

Amanda R. Kison has been practicing law in Sarasota for more than a decade.  An attorney and shareholder with the firm of Bentley Goodrich Kison, she concentrates her practice in the area of commercial litigation involving business and real estate disputes and handles both trials and civil proceedings.  She is board certified in business litigation, identifying her as a lawyer with special knowledge, skills and expertise in business litigation. She has been nominated as a Florida Rising Star for Super Lawyers the past four years; recognized by Florida Trend’s 2021 Legal Elite list; included as an “Elite Top Attorney” by SRQ Magazine and maintains an AV-rating with Martindale Hubbell.

A board member of the Sarasota County Bar Association (SCBA), Ms. Kison serves on the 12th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee as well as the executive council of the Real Property Litigation Committee of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar. She is a member of the executive committee of the Judge John M. Scheb American Inn of Court, and is a past chair of the Civil Trial Section for the SCBA.  She is a contributing author for The Docket, the official magazine of the SCBA and frequently can be seen on ABC-7 commenting about timely legal matters.

Ms. Kison, who is the current chairman of the board of the Southwest Chapter of the American Red Cross in Sarasota, received her undergraduate degree from Skidmore College, where she completed the New York State mediation certification program.  She earned her Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law, during which time she volunteered for the Center for Heirs Property, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families protect and keep their family land. Ms. Kison is admitted to practice in Florida State Courts and the Middle District of Florida.

Prior to joining Bentley Goodrich Kison, Ms. Kison spent several years as a litigation associate focusing primarily on commercial and business litigation, family law, and appellate practice. She is resident of Sarasota where she lives with her husband and two children.  When she is not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her family.
