Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. But, either way, it is not necessarily over when the trial court rules. You may have just won a significant victory in the trial court and need to protect that victory in the appellate court. Or, you may have just lost in the trial court and want to take an appeal to seek a reversal of the trial court’s ruling.

Bentley Goodrich Kison has over 30 years of appellate practice experience in both State and Federal appellate courts.

Our appellate team is led by David Wallace, who has been Board Certified in Appellate Practice since 2002. David has appeared in cases in the Supreme Court of Florida, the Florida District Courts of Appeal, and the Federal 11th Circuit Court of Appeal. Most of our State court appeals are in the Second District Court of Appeal, which encompasses Sarasota, Manatee, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, DeSoto, Charlotte, Glades, Hardee, Highlands, Polk, Collier, Hendry and Lee Counties.

Bentley Goodrich Kison’s appellate practice services include appeals from final orders, interlocutory appeals (appeals of non-final orders as permitted by rule), and extraordinary writs including petitions for writ of certiorari, mandamus, and prohibition. You may have a great trial lawyer, but appellate practice is governed by different rules and require different skills. We work closely with trial lawyers on all manner of appellate proceedings to get you the best result possible.
